Light & Motion is proud to announce the Bluefin HD, a
newly designed professional underwater housing system
for the Sony High Definition HDR-FX1 and HVR-Z1U
camcorders. |

Constructed from industrial grade aluminium, machined,
anodized and depth rated to 400 feet, the Bluefin HD
housing has an advanced feature set that will satisfy
even the most discriminating videographers.
Housing controls include power on/off, record
start/stop, double tap variable zoom control,
electronic manual focus, momentary auto focus on/off,
manual iris and gain, shutter speed, manual push white
balance and neutral density filter.
Smart Grip Handles
also provide access to VTR playback for instant
footage review. Also included is a
Flip Down Colour Correction
Filter,
and the revolutionary Flip Macro Lens that will allow
for super macro detail at any time on any dive. |

Smart Grip Handles
put important functions where you need them, at your
fingertips. Handles provide non-penetrating push
button controls, utilizing IR transmitters and
receivers. No fumbling around for awkward levers and
dials. As such, the housing is a natural extension of
your hands so capturing that perfect video sequence is
made easy. With the
Easy Load
camera tray setup is a snap.

and
Self Locking Rotary Latches
provide the security you would expect allowing you the
peace of mind to focus on your passion.
Weight:
The dry weight of the Bluefin HD will vary with
configuration. A standard configuration (flat port, no
lights, no external monitor) will have a dry
weight of 26 pounds. Dive ready weight
including the camera is 33 pounds with a buoyancy just
slightly negative in water. Fully loaded Pro Travel
Package (UWA adapter, pro lights, and remote monitor)
will have a dry weight of 44 pounds and a buoyancy
just slightly negative in water.
Dimensions:
Length: Along the Housing base is 14.75 inches (37.5
cm). Optics will extend this a bit.
Height: Housing (no lights) is 9.5 inches (24.1 cm).
Batteries will increase this to about 10.75 inches
(27.3 cm). An external, top mounted monitor will
increase this.
Width: Outside of the control handles is 13.5 inches
(34.3 cm).
Housing can be purchased as a solo or as part of a
complete
Travel Package
with Integrated Lighting system.

Specular Peened Reflectors
provide the same daylight colour temperature as the sun
with no hot spots, which means your subject looks

you can turn lights on or off from your fingertips
with a push of a button. SunRay Pro lights utilize
NiMH batteries and provide burn time up to 60 minutes.

Bluefin HD housing, SunRay Elite lights, dual
batteries, multi-voltage charger and a custom case to
hold all your accessories. Is your subject too blown
out? Press the light button on the Bluefin's
Smart Grip Handle
and toggle down the light output in one of 3 settings.
Sunray Elite lights also utilize NiMH batteries, true
Smart Charging
and offer burn times from 60 minutes on high to 80
minutes on low.

The Bluefin HC1 is designed
with an integrated system of housing, lights,
monitor, and optics. Set-up is a snap. Simply
attach the camera to the tray, plug in the control
and video cables, and slide the unit into the
housing. You'll love the positive snap as the
camera locks into position for perfect optical
alignment. Now attach the rear plate by rotating
the
Self-Locking Latches.

The Bluefin Travel Package was designed to provide
the discriminating videographer with a complete

The Bluefin Travel Packages are the thoughtful
integration of the Bluefin housing, state of the
art Sunray-S lighting systems, optional
accessories, and a lightweight dry case.
The Pro Travel Package utilizes HID lamp
technology to produce a daylight balanced color
temperature of 5500° Kelvin.
If you want to save a little money, but still want
the control, then opt for the Bluefin Elite Travel
Package.The Elite package provides the same
control and feature set as the Pro, but uses the
Elite lighting system incorporating our Sunray
halogen light heads.
With the Elite, new Sunray-S battery pods
unobtrusively integrate into the housing and add
fingertip control over 3 levels of light output.
Pro lights also offer fingertip on/off control,
but without step down levels.
Complete either system with one of two Active
Matrix Monitors. Choose the 2.5 Bluefin Compact
or the revolutionary Bluefin Remote Monitor. The
Remote Monitor allows you to control your entire
video system from a remote location.
