Terms and conditions
We are committed to your satisfaction and safety - in order for us to realistically provide this level of service we have to operate to these set of rules:
1. Amendments to terms and conditions
Celtic Diving Limited reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions
without prior notice.
2. Booking Arrangements
To
confirm bookings we require payment
usually at least four weeks in advance of any course or activity. Additionally
it is the responsibility of the client to check with us by telephone or email
two days before scheduled
if the course or activity will go ahead.
Bookings outside our published schedules
can be arranged at our discretion. Any payment
made to us is contractual and confirms that our terms and conditions have been
read and are agreed by clients.
3.
Qualification is not automatic
Please
note that training is paid for but qualifications are earned. Our course
schedules are based on the minimum training time that is needed to obtain the
certifications. We uphold the highest standards of training and expect
candidates to meet our standards if they wish to qualify. Due to the
varying abilities of candidates, we cannot guarantee that every individual will
be able reach the required standards in the time given. Therefore, it is not
realistic or practical to set deadlines. Remedial and make up training can be
arranged at extra cost.
4.
Cancellations
The
environment in which we operate is unpredictable. Therefore, cancellations may
be inevitable and are at our discretion, dependent on tides, forecasts, sea
conditions and other variables. We reserve the right to alter all itineraries
and will offer alternative dates but strictly no cash refunds.
If we
receive a cancellation from a client within two weeks of a booking or a client
fails to show up or abandons a course or activity, there is strictly no cash
refund or alternative date offered. We will have booked all the necessary staff
and resources, turned down other bookings and generally committed ourselves to
your attendance. If we receive a cancellation up to three weeks before a
booking we will offer up to three dates for an alternative booking free of
charge, but strictly no cash refund.
5.
Medical status and health and safety
The sea
is a demanding environment and we operate to the highest levels of safety. Your
health is a key issue in any diving activity and, therefore, all divers must
complete the medical declaration satisfactorily or bring a GP’s letter
confirming they are fit to dive, (please click here to view). Any misstatement on the medical declaration could endanger your life. We
accept no responsibility for your safety in the event of any misstatements which
will also render our contract with you null and void. Any clients with a
BMI of 30 or more must inform us prior to booking. Being overweight puts you in
jeopardy. We reserve the right to refuse a candidate to complete a course or
activity if we believe that a client will compromise health and safety for
whatever reason – no refunds will be given, our word is final. If you have
any concerns about your health please talk to us before booking.
Furthermore, we also reserve the right to insist that divers have to be
accompanied on dives by one of our instructors at the clients extra expense if
we believe that any diver may compromise health and safety for whatever reason –
our word is final. The use of surface marker buoys (SMB’s) is mandatory
on dive charters. Divers must comply with the skippers instructions to either
deploy the buoy at the start of the dive or immediately any current is
encountered during the dive or on the ascent. There is a strong possibility that
divers could be lost at sea for failing to carry out the recommendations, we
cannot be held responsible for this. For divers with no SMB experience we can
arrange training. Any client that needs to be evacuated from a training or
activity location for whatever reason by one of our vessels or vehicles will be
liable for all expenses incurred including emergency oxygen and first aid
materials.
6. Certified Divers
Certified divers must bring evidence of their
qualifications; either certificates or logbooks, failure to do so may result in
being refused to dive – no refunds will be given, our word is final. Divers that
bring their own equipment must ensure that it is serviced annually or every 100
dives, or in the case of cylinders are in test. Failure to comply will render
our contract with you null and void.
7. Equipment Hire
All our
hire equipment is of a very high standard and maintained regularly. We expect
divers to look after the equipment carefully, any misuse of equipment could
endanger your safety and the safety of others. Our hire suits and BCD’s are of
standard size – if any participants are not of standard size they must arrange
for their own suits before enrolling on any courses or activities.
8.
Damage or loss
Celtic
Diving, owners and staff accept no liability whatsoever for any theft, loss,
damage, injury or otherwise to clients and their belongings. Therefore we
strongly advise that clients take out their own insurances. Any of our
hire equipment lost, broken or not returned must be replaced at the full retail
value by the hirer.
